Rickinghall Farmers' Market - Plan for the Future
Rickinghall Farmers' Market has been running for some 22 years always on the second Saturday of the month. It has raised thousands of pounds which has been invested in improvements to the hall and playing field. With rising energy bills, people are trying to make savings where they can and are now shopping more at Aldi rather than Waitrose. Our Farmers' Market has been affected by this trend and needs to evolve to survive and continue in its purpose to raise funds for the village hall.
During the last couple of years the summertime autojumbles and classic car meets have expanded and now create more revenue than the market. The forward plan is as follows:
14 January 2023 will see an indoor autojumble and car-related ephemera inside the hall. To book an autojumble stall, contact David Juniper on 07806 437722 during working hours please. As in 2021 and 2022 there will be no Farmers' Market in January 2023.
Starting on Saturday 11 February 2023 (still the 2nd Saturday) we will be rebranding to become Rickinghall Country Market. The food stalls will continue and we will also welcome stallholders selling other products of their choice. We hope to see handicrafts, collectables, ephemera etc. Please bring only quality items, we do not want to be a white elephant show. Stalls will be £10 for a 6ft table. Booking in advance will be essential as we only have limited space inside. To book a market stall, please telephone John on 07771 522 095. No texts please - they will be ignored. RVHMC Dec 2022 v2
